Born and raised on the East Coast, Jason Bergh is an Emmy Award® winner and 2019 NAACP Image Award nominated director, producer, and photographer. With film premieres at Tribeca, Sundance, and Los Angeles Film Festival, and critical acclaim for several ESPN 30 for 30 films - it’s clear that Jason’s keen eye for intimate, innovative and weighted storytelling is unique.
Growing up the son of a respected journalist and cinematographer, observing human narrative is in his blood. Fascinated by the intersection of sports, music and culture, Jason began his career documenting NYC street culture.
Upon moving to Los Angeles in 2002, Jason worked with Interscope Records, chronicling many of their artists on the road, creating documentaries, directing live concerts, and creating the first ever live music series for Sprint on their mobile devices. The latter project lead to Jason’s successful foray into brand advertising. Some notable clients include: Jennifer Lopez, Jaguar, Pepsi, Beats by Dre, Samsung, Liza Koshy, LYFT, Disney, Red Bull, Rufus Du Sol, ESPN, Coors Light, Buscemi, Public Enemy to name a few.
Jason is a storytelling visionary and serial entrepreneur; co-founding UX Entertainment (UXE) a TV / Film production company responsible for TV shows and documentaries including: Emmy Award® winning ESPN 30 for 30, Red Bull Television’s series WHO IS JOB as well as BET’s IN A THOUSAND WORDS with Michelle Obama, which Jason directed and was nominated for an 2019 NAACP Image Award. Berkela Films with Sal Masekela a full service distribution and production studio touting Australia’s highest grossing documentary in history BRA BOYS. Most recently he co-founded Early Morning Riot, a bespoke creative management and production company representing photographers and directors in the commercial and advertising space.
